Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I only want a a bit of guttering fitting - do you look at small jobs or do you only deal with big projects like extensions and conversions?
A. No matter how small the job is - call us and we will be happy to advise and provide a quotation. We are happy to provide our expert help no matter how small the job is. Remember proper maintenance now - can save you alot of money later on down the line with damp issues, etc.
Q. We are thinking about having an extension built - Do you provide a plan drawing service or would I need an architect?
A. We can work to architects drawings and specifications - that is not a problem. We can also carry out the drawing and specification ourselves to submit to the local planning and building control departments. We provide a complete Design & Build service.
Q. I want to put velux windows in my roof, so that I can make a room in the loft space. Do I need planning permission to get this done?
A. Not necessarily, providing you are placing them on the rear elevation of the house, the building is not a listed building in a conservation area - then you can install these without planning consent under permitted development rights. However if you are thinking of converting the loft space - Building control approval will be required.

A. Unfortunately yes we do. This is currently 17.5% but will be increasing to 20% in the new year from January 1st 2011. Therefore if you are planning to do some building work - get it done now and save yourself 2.5%.
Q. Is your company insured?
A. Yes we are. We currently hold £2 million of Public Liabilty insurance. Certificates can be supplied if requested by our clients.
Q. Will I have to pay any money up front - or do I pay on completion of the building job?
A. On small jobs under the value of £1000 - we would invoice on completion. With larger jobs like extensions and conversions we would want to agree a payment schedule with you before commencing the work. This would cover the costs of purchasing materials.
